Scouting the Argos
The Argos (2-6, 12-9) are 1-4 in conference play since the first of the year with Tech handing them a comeback defeat on Jan. 7. The Argos have the lowest scoring offense in the league this season (60.5) and the third scoring defense (55.4). Providence is the top rebounding school on the year, but is third in conference averaging 29.9 boards a game. Fifth year senior Reed Hazard leads the Argos in scoring and is fifth in the league averaging 11.8 points a game and shooting 36.8% from the field. Junior Maddy Dixon is second in the Frontier in rebounds grabbing 7.6 per game and adds 11.6 points shooting 52.5 points per game.

Scouting the Skylights
The Skylights (0-8, 7-14) have lost their last three game by 20 or more points and haven't won a conference matchup this year including a 64-57 loss last time at the HPER. The Skylights have an advantage at home with a 7-4 record. Northern is last in scoring in conference games (51.6), but fourth overall (60.9). Junior transfer Briaunna McCullough leads the team in scoring and is fourth in the league scoring 13.4 points and ranks fifth in rebounds (6.3). Senior forward Shyan Krass is fourth in the league in rebounds grabbing 6.6 a game nets a even 10 points per contest.

Rough Road Trip—After winning two straight at home against the Argos and Northern, the Orediggers faced three straight ranked opponents away from Kelvin Sampson Court and return home losing all three. Tech put up a great fight against No. 12 Montana Western shooting 54% from the field and a barrage of threes hitting 7 of 14 from beyond the arc while outrebounding the Bulldogs. The Oredigger shooting slowed as they shot below their conference average against No. 20 Rocky Mountain and No. 18 Carroll College as well as losing the battle at the boards in both games.

Conference Baller—Junior
Tavia Rooney is turning it up in conference action. Rooney is second total scoring with 129 points and is averaging 16.1 a game. She is averaging 11 points a game against nonconference opponents. Rooney is leading the league in rebounds averaging 8.1 a game, up from her 7.9 nonconference average.

1,000 Point Club—Tavia Rooney hit a three-pointer in first quarter against the Saints last Saturday which pushed her over the top and is the newest member of the Oredigger's 1,000 Point Club. Rooney, with 1,013 points currently, joins teammate
Dani Urick who broke the 1,000 point mark last season. Urick currently has 1,165 points as an Oredigger and surpassed Melissa Ritter who had 1,033 points from 2000-2004. Ritter is one of the new members of the Digger Athletics Hall of Fame being inducted last fall.
