Carroll College earned the top spot in the preseason 2023-24 Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Coaches Poll. The six Frontier Coaches voted on the projected order of finish and the preseason awards.
Carroll College received five first-place votes- the maximum as coaches are not allowed to vote for themselves- for a total of 25 points. They are coming off a 27-6 season, including a trip to Sioux City and the NAIA National Championship.
The University of Providence received one first-place vote, and tallied 19 points which tied them with Rocky Mountain College who also collected 19 points. That wasn't the only tie in the poll, as Montana Western and MSU-Northern tied for fourth with 10 points each, and the Orediggers of Montana Tech were picked to finish sixth, with seven points.
Carroll College Grad Student Jamie Pickens was selected as the Frontier Conference Preseason Player of the Year. Last season Pickens was selected as a 1
st Team All-American. Jamie averaged 17.6 PPG while shooting 54% from the field. She also pulled down 7.7 rebounds a game.
Pickens wasn't the only Saint on the Preseason All-Conference, as she is joined by Senior guard Kyndall Keller. Providence also landed two on the list, with senior Maddy Dixon, and Grad student Ashley Moldonado. Montana Western guard Jordan Sweeney made the grade, as well as Rocky forward Morgan Baird.
