HENDERSON, Nevada - The Montana Tech men's and women's golf teams ended the second day the Frontier Conference Championships holding 2nd place in the team standings.

Rocky Mountain College holds the lead on both the men's and the women's sides with one round left at Reflection Bay Golf Club.

The Montana Tech men shot a 326 (+38) while the women improved their first round showing by 6 strokes, shooting a 347 (+59). The Oredigger men remain 44 strokes in front of the Saints from Carroll College, while the Oredigger women extended their lead over Carroll to 62 strokes.

Montana Tech's
Gabe Witham had a bid second day shooting a 3-over-par 75 to jump into third place, while
Matt Hobbs sits just outside of the top five at 6th place overall after carding an 80 (+8). Freshman
Joe Opitz continued his strong showing by improving his day 1 score by three strokes, shooting an 81 and is 8th overall while
Blake Loberg and
Nick Pasquarello finished the day where they started, tied for 13
th place and matching scores of 90.

On the women's side, freshman
Emma Woods remains at fourth overall and just three strokes back from third place after shooting a second round score of 80.
Samantha Benson jumped into the fifth spot in the standings after shooting a day 2 score of 85.
Franchi Ceartin entered the top ten after firing a round of 89 to move to 9
th while
Kodie Hoagland moved up for spots to 11th after posting a 93.
Cierra Sundheim scored a 99 and is currently sitting tied for 12
th.

The Orediggers will tee off for their final round of the Frontier Conference Championships on Wednesday morning starting at 7:10 A.M. PDT.
