RICHLAND, Wash. -- Montana Tech's women's golf team will carry a 17-stroke lead into the final day of the Columbia Basin Invitational.
The Orediggers shot a Round 1 49-over-par Monday to build a nine-stroke lead and extended it eight more through most of Round 2 before the day's competition was called due to darkness.
All six Montana Tech players were in the top 11 at day's end, led by
Keni Wade, who is tied for the lead at 28 over par. The freshman shot a 15-over 87 in her first round and sits 13 over in Round 2 with a hole to play.
Senior
Emma Woods (85-89—174) sits alone in fourth place, and fellow senior
Kodie Hoagland (94-86—180) is tied for sixth.
The team will finish its second round starting at 8:30 a.m. PDT before Round 3 begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start.
