DICKINSON, N.D. -- Emma Woods became the first Montana Tech women's golfer to shoot in the 60s, three Orediggers finished in the top five, and Tech wrapped up a runner-up team finish Tuesday at the Dickinson State Invitational.
Woods shot a 4-under-par 68 to retake the Montana Tech low individual round scoring record. She was 4-under on her first nine holes and shot even on the latter nine.
Paired with her first-round 79 on Monday, the senior finished tied for third with classmate
Kodie Hoagland at 147 strokes over two rounds at the par-72 Heart River Golf Course.
Sophomore
Casha Corder followed Monday's even-par 72 with a 5-over 77 in Round 2 to tie for fifth at 149.
Two other Orediggers — senior
Hayden Pride (78-79—157, t-13th) and freshman
Keni Wade (79-81—160, 15th) — landed in the top 15.
Freshman
Olivia McGreevey (87-94—181) placed 28th, and sophomore
Delaney Clark (99-89—188) took 31st to round out Montana Tech's scoring.
The Orediggers set a new team tournament program record with a 24-over-par 600 over the two days, matching Monday's single-round record of 300 with the same score Tuesday. Rocky's Grace Metcalf won medalist honors with a 4-under-par 140 over the two rounds.
Montana Tech will take next week off before wrapping up fall competition September 29-30 at the Beartooth Invitational at Laurel Golf Club.
