LAUREL -- Montana Tech's women's golf team opened up play at the Beartooth Invitational Monday with a 37-over-par score of 325 at Laurel Golf Club.
The Orediggers are in second in the seven-team field.
Three Montana Tech golfers played their way into the top 10 on the par-72, 6,076-yard course, led by senior
Emma Woods' 8-over 80. Woods checked into seventh on the leaderboard, and senior
Kodie Hoagland and sophomore
Casha Corder are tied for eighth at 9-over 81.
Freshman
Keni Wade rounded out the scoring for the Orediggers. She carded an 11-over 83 with her team-best three birdies to finish Day 1 tied for 12th.
Senior
Hayden Pride (86, t-17th), sophomore
Delaney Clark (97, 33rd), and freshman
Olivia McGreevey 98, t-34th) also represented Tech.
The Orediggers trail tournament leader and host Rocky Mountain by 16 strokes in the team standings. Bellevue sits third six strokes behind Tech. Rocky's Tyla Potgieter leads the tournament at 3-over-par 75.
The tournament will continue with its second and final round at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
