HELENA -- The Frontier Conference bestowed Academic All-Conference honors, presented by Billings Clinic and Logan Health, on nine Montana Tech women's basketball student-athletes, the league office announced Thursday.
Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in standing and carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA to be eligible for the honor. A total of 111 student-athletes from the conference's 12 programs made the grade.
Montana Tech's women's basketball team, currently ranked No. 15 in the NAIA coaches' top 25 poll, enters this weekend's conference tournament as the second seed in the eight-team field. The Orediggers sport a 22-4 record entering postseason competition. Tech will play seventh-seeded Providence at 2:30 p.m. in the conference tournament quarterfinals Friday at the Butte Civic Center.
