CLARKSTON, Wash. -- The Montana Tech men's golf team played to seventh place Monday over the first two rounds of the Warrior Spring Classic, hosted by Lewis-Clark State at Red Wolf Golf Club.
The Orediggers shot team rounds of 302 and 310 to sit at 36 over par twice around the par-72, 6,671-yard course in southeastern Washington.
Senior
Trey Mattson and junior
Joe McGreevey led the way for Montana Tech in the spring-season opener. The pair are tied for 15th in the individual standings at 149 strokes apiece. Mattson was the Orediggers' low man in Round 1, shooting an even 72 that he followed with a 77 in the afternoon. McGreevey shot rounds of 73 and 76 to match the score.
Sophomore
Colin Wade followed the pair, shooting 75 and 77 to wrap up the day tied for 25th.
Playing as an individual, freshman
Brenner Booth came in at 83-74—157, tying him for 36th.
Sophomores
Carson Hupka (82-80—162, t-41st) and
Landon Olson (88-80—168, 45th) rounded out the scoring for the Orediggers.
Montana Tech's men will tee off Tuesday morning for the final 18 holes of the tournament.
